Inter Milan youth player Jose Sebastiani tells how his father decided to name him after the club’s former coach Jose Mourinho.

The Special One only spent two campaigns at Appiano Gentile. However, he still cemented himself as one of the greatest names in the club’s history.

In the 2009/10 campaign, the Portuguese led the Nerazzurri towards an unprecedented treble. Inter won the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia, while the Champions League was the cherry on top of a historic season.

Therefore, Mourinho became so popular among the club’s supporters, that famous TV presenter Amadeus named his son after him.

The 61-year-old is one of the most famous personalities on Italian television. He has hosted several editions of the iconic Sanremo festival as well as a host of TV shows.

Amadeus (original name Amadeo Sabastiani) is a die-hard Inter supporter. He also made sure his son followed in his footsteps by naming him after Mourinho.

15-year-old Jose Sebastiani is an aspiring goalkeeper who is currently developing his skills at the Nerazzurri academy.

The teenager told how his father decided to name him after Mourinho following an airplane meeting.

“When my mother was pregnant, she was on the plane with my father. Mourinho was sitting in front of them,” said the young Inter goalkeeper in an interview with Il Messaggero via FcInterNews.

“My father, as a die-hard fan went to greet the coach. Then, he returned to his seat and told my mother solemnly ‘Our son will be named after him.’

“At first, she didn’t agree with the idea. But Dad managed to convince her in the end.

“He’s a very normal father, like any other. He supports me and I support him. My mother is more strict, especially when it comes to my studies.

“She puts her career on the back burner just to be close to me. and I am very grateful to her.”
